Many elements need to come together to create that "perfect image". In this course you’ll see how styling, lighting, camera & production techniques all come together to produce the dynamic imagery that wows your clients, awakens your passions and ignites your profits!

With subjects ranging from Kids to Prime Ministers, Jewelry to Jets, and Interiors to Centerfolds, Craig's "lenscape" is ever-changing with event challenges always becoming imaging opportunities. During this workshop, you'll learn all the steps in the process including - digital preplanning, set locations & styling, location & creative lighting techniques, effective image handling & workflow, turbo-charged production and even some special tricks to really make your images stand out amongst all others.

No Brides will be shot or harmed during this event! As a fresh and exciting learning alternative, we will work in an editorial style of imagery with live sessions that will touch on corporate, fashion, illustrative and environmental portraits that bring a contemporary feel to the image, but always with a personal touch to the subject.

This course will be of interest to anyone familiar with basic digital shooting & production, and of special interest to the photographer with the desire to take their work to the next level and beyond!

Prerequisites for Craig’s Class:

Intermediate Pro Level Photographers of all disciplines are welcome in this course. You are expected to be familiar with basic digital camera operations and basic digital workflow techniques.

This workshop is for intermediate photographers who have worked in portraiture, weddings and commercial photography and have a foundation in studio and location lighting.
Participants should have a sound technical background of photographing with their digital SLR cameras in manual mode and using their own laptop/desktop computers to review, edit, save and store their images safety.
Although this is not an advanced Photoshop workshop, a basic familiarity with your computer is essential. Computer literacy, navigation and mouse skills in Photoshop knowledge is also very helpful.

Students are expected to be familiar with their laptop/desktop with its editing and manipulating software, image transfer to your computer and basic digital workflow techniques to review, edit, save and store your images safely. (All of our courses will use it latest version of adobe Photoshop for image manipulation.)

THE INSTRUCTORS ARE NOT EXPECTED TO GIVE CONSIDERATION TO THOSE STUDENTS WHO'S LEVEL OF COMPENTENCY IS FAR BELOW THE COURSE DESCRIPTION OR OTHER PHOTOGRAPHERS LEVEL IN THE CLASS.

Equipment Required:
In no particular order...

-Digital Camera, lenses, batteries, chargers, filters, grey cards and any other accessories ( no film necessary...)
-Memory cards, pouches, card reader, pc card adapters, transfer cables - whatever you need to transfer images to your computer
- Your own laptop or desktop computer, must have the most current version of Photoshop. (A 30 day trial version of Photoshop may be downloaded before you arrive at NSI) Your instructor will help you with the download if need be.
-Your instructor will contact you by email to let you know if there are any specific software requirements for your course.
-Computer system, power cords, monitor, printer ( if needed)
-Tripod, flash, reflectors
-Notebook, pens, doodle pads Etch-A-Sketch etc...
-*Supplied handout notes printed out!
-Camera and Accessories software books and user guides
-* Photoshop CS2 ( CS or 7 is acceptable, but try for the CS2 Trial Upgrade! ), PhotoMechanic, Iview MediaPro,, your camera software
- installed and working(!!) (some programs may require additional plug-ins to operate, don't discover you are missing something when you are here - download and give the programs a quick try before you arrive please! )
-PowerBar, Ext Cord, comp cables, security lock cables,
-CD burner, extra Cd's / DVD's Portable HardDrives,
-Sample images / sessions to work on ( try to cover, JPG and Raw formats, skin tones, scenics etc...)
-Your system and program disks / registration info
-Sample images , prints, portfolio, images on CD, Fav magazines etc...
